Grand Theft Auto IV Patch 1.01
Those who (like me) are playing Rockstar's new game Grand Theft Auto IV and have a problem with the game freezing during the first cut-scenes when the internet connection to your PS3 is enabled (see http://www.highwayman.org/mt/highway/archives/000350.php), there is now a patch available for download on your PS3 when you first turn on the GTA IV game. It's a 18MB file.
With the patch now installed, the game loaded without freezing issues. Let's see if anything new develops.
To be continued...

[Quick Fix] Grand Theft Auto VI Freezes on the PS3
If you haven't heard already, there are some owners of PS3's and XBox360 who have been experiencing problems when playing Grand Theft Auto VI, the newest and highly anticipated game from Rockstar. I, myself, have personally experienced the "freezing" within the first 5 minutes into the game... during the introduction cut-scene. The video suddenly stops but the conversation and music continues.
Deleting the game data and personal save data doesn't help the situation and only wastes your time.
The quick fix until Rockstar is able to come out with a quick patch to fix this problem is to disable the internet connection that you might have enabled on your PS3. I disabled the internet connection and game loads perfectly.

"Settlers of Catan: Seafarers" Available Online...
While searching for Mozilla Firefox extensions to add on, I discovered an extension that is used for "Settlers of Catan" and that led me to find an online-version of the board-game: S3D Connector website.
After downloading the needed game installation, I found myself participating in Ladder-games (games that records and ranks your standing against other players). I even configured my network to allow me to host games as well.
The installations comes with the standard Settlers of Catan setup plus the added expansion: Seafarers. There are other variations to the rules (eg. no 7s on the first # rounds, jungle instead of desert, maximum trades per turn, etc).
So, if you ever decide to install the game, look me up by my game handle: johnhighway ... yeah, I know, my ranking sucks.

G4 Programming Gets Not So Stellar Review Rating
GameDailyBiz reviews G4's midday shows (Electric Playground, Judgement Day, Cheat and Arena). Bottom line, the simple novelty of videogame TV has certainly worn off, but it isn't dead by a long shot. There are plenty possibilities, but if the network doesn't start getting more creative, there may not be much left on the network.

World of Warcraft Gots AIDS!
On Monday, September 20th, 2005 ... a plague-like virus was accidentally introduced into the world when a small, isolated population was exposed to what is now called the Zul'Gurub disease.
Once exposed, symptoms quickly manifested and the small populace quickly succumb to the effects of the disease, but what was totally unexpected was that some had escape and brought the disease to nearby towns, spreading it to the general population.
Yes, I'm talking about the incident that occurred within the "World of Warcraft" ...
The disease started within the instance known as Zul'Gurub and inside is the god of blood, Hakkar and when you fight him, he has the abiliyt to employ something called "Corrupted Blood". It does something like 250-300 points of damage to players and the disease infects nearby players.
Those who are low in experience levels are quick to die as they are unable to handle the effects of the disease... those of higher experience also suffered, only to die later.
While there's been no cure for this disease, a disease that has reached epidemic proportions, virtually speaking, Blizzard's GameMaster (GM) have tried quarantining the players affected in certain areas, but the players kept escaping the quarantine and thereby infecting other players.
This might be the first on-line epidemic experienced by the on-line gaming world.

"... GTA Police Help in Bust"
Robbers scared off by Playstation game get jail time
Four burglars in Texas were frightened when they heard the police. Apparently, the children in the house where playing Grand Theft Auto and in the game, the police were saying things like, "Stop, we have you surrounded. This is the police." This was apparently enough to confuse these burglars into thinking that the police were just outside waiting to capture them. They fled the scene but where later apprehended by Galveston Police.

Stargate SG-1: The Aliiance
Screenshots of the game's environment looks very kewl. Stargate SG-1: The Alliance is the spectacular interactive game experience that puts players in the action packed universe of the hit Stargate SG-1 television series.
I'm looking for to the game's release for a full game review.

Modded XBox Denied Live Action
Alex Albrecht: Xbox live and Halo 2...
If you've gotten yourself a modded Microsoft XBox console game unit, it would appear that Microsoft enabled the ability to detect this (even if turned off) and deny you access for XBox Live.
